Riyadh Community College, the latest in the university, was founded by virtue of the Council of Ministers’ decree no. 73 issued on 5/3/1422. The first batch of students, 900 in number, joined the college at the commencement of the second semester of the academic year 1423-1424. The college has five departments: Physical Sciences, Applied Medical Sciences, Computer Science, Administrative Sciences, and Arts and Education. The regular study program at the Community College consists of at least four academic semesters. Students take at least 64 academic credits that count towards graduation. The departments have the right to add a semester or more according to the nature and need of every specialization since a specialization may require a foreign language, a preparatory program, a participatory training, or a practicum period before joining the labor market.

It is a program by the end of which the student obtains the Associate Degree- a degree equivalent to the intermediate college diploma. This program has the applied specializations that meet the requirements of the labor market. The College Council suggests and provides these specializations after the University Council’s approval.

• Qualifying career students in the specializations most demanded in the labor market and requiring no university degree.
• Giving the college students who could not pursue their study in the Transfer Program for academic reasons the chance to obtain an academic diploma that qualifies them for recruitment.
